Harderwijk is always easy to reach, however you choose to travel
Are you coming by car?
Are you coming into town by car? The historic city centre is a low-traffic zone and not suitable for parking. But that’s no problem, as there are plenty of parking facilities in and around the city. In much of the city, you can even park for free for the first hour. So, whichever way you’re coming from, you’ll always find a parking space along the way.
Mooring in Harderwijk
Would you like to visit the town by boat? That’s no problem at all. Harderwijk has no fewer than three harbours right on the edge of town. Whether you choose the Stadshaven, the Strandhaven or the Oude Vissershaven, it’s never a long walk to the historic centre!
You can easily check in via the Aan/Uit app.
Are you coming by bike?
Fancy a spot of shopping, or relaxing on a sunny terrace? The best way to get into town is by bike. Harderwijk has plenty of bike racks with more than enough spaces. On Academiestraat, you’ll even find a free, secure bike rack. It’s open during shop opening hours. You can also charge your e-bike here.
Public Transport in Harderwijk
Harderwijk is also easily accessible by public transport. Trains run as often as four times an hour: twice from Amersfoort and twice from Zwolle. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station to the town centre. Of course, you could also opt for a public transport bike or simply hop on the bus.
