Anna Setton (BR)/ Speciale gast Lucas Santana

Trained in the most exciting branch of MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), she is known for her original work, combining the harmonic school of bossa nova with a modern, jazz-influenced approach deeply rooted in Brazilian rhythms. This is evident in both her compositions and her interpretations. She traveled the world for five years with the legendary guitarist and singer Toquinho. This journey provided her with the perfect groove to debut her self-titled album in 2018, a release that highlighted her undeniable talent. During the pandemic, she was inspired to pick up her guitar and host weekly live sessions, lending her voice to some of the greatest treasures of Brazilian popular music.

This discipline led to Onde Mora Meu Coração, an album of carefully selected reinterpretations, including the beautiful Morena Bonita by Toninho Horta. In 2023, she released O Futuro é Mais Bonito, an album that explores new sounds while remaining true to her MPB roots.

In this concert, Anna presents her own compositions and arrangements, showcasing her powerful yet intimate voice as she performs alongside pianist, composer, and arranger Edu Sangirardi, with special guest Lucas Santana on saxophone. Lucas, a familiar face at our Jazz Days, has previously performed with Anna abroad. This led to this concert, which we are already looking forward to!
