Enjoy walking and cycling in the Veluwe
Cycling and walking in the Veluwe
The Veluwe is the largest contiguous nature reserve in the Netherlands. The area covers a total of 91,200 hectares and stretches from the Randmeren lakes in the north-west to the River IJssel in the east and the River Rhine in the south. The area consists of a succession of different landscapes, such as forests, heathland and sand drifts. Each area has its own unique flora and fauna. This makes the Veluwe hugely attractive to lovers of walking and cycling. There are numerous walking and cycling routes marked out for all ages, and there are adapted routes for wheelchair users and the visually impaired. In designated areas, you may let your dog run free.
Cycling and walking along the Randmeren
You’ll also find beautiful cycling and walking paths along the Randmeren. For the sporty types among us: you can even do a full circuit of the Randmeren: from Harderwijk to Kampen, then through the polder to Naarden and back to Harderwijk. Or the other way round, of course.
